New Mom and Baby

Depending on your needs and interests, postpartum support could look like:

  • Connection and emotional support for you

  • A time to share and process your birth or adoption or surrogacy story

  • Newborn care, guidance, and reassurance

  • Assistance with feeding (breast/chest feeding, pumping, bottles)

  • Getting systems organized so you have more time to rest and recover

  • Strategizing how to improve sleep for the whole family

  • Caring for the baby(ies) while you rest

  • Help thinking about how to support any older children in the house

  • Considering diapering options (cloth, disposable, elimination communication)

  • Teaching you how to wear your baby in a wrap or carrier

  • Newborn-related housework (washing bottles/pump parts, infant laundry)

  • Accompanying you and your baby(ies) to doctor appointments, outings, and errands

  • Helping to connect you to other resources in the community

Hi! My name is Stacey Cloud.

Portrait of Stacey Cloud, Postpartum Doula

I’m a certified postpartum doula and a mom to three kids. I’ve been in education–teaching children and teachers–for over two decades, and have been drawn to new parents and babies for as long as I can remember.

I was elated but exhausted when my first child was born, and was beyond overwhelmed when my premature twins came home less than three years later following prenatal surgery, bedrest, and a lengthy NICU stay. I wish I had sought out postpartum doula support both times.

I feel strongly that when new parents are able to bond confidently with their babies in the first months of parenting, those families, and our entire society, benefit. With the right support in place, the first few months with a new baby (or babies!) can be filled with joy and connection. I’m honored to work with families during this special time, and I’m looking forward to connecting with you and supporting your growing family. You don’t have to do this alone!

Client Testimonials

  • “Stacey supported me with both my babies–five years apart. She is fantastic with all of the logistics of supporting a postpartum family–making sure everyone is fed, rested, taken care of. Where she is an absolute godsend is her emotional support to everyone in the household–she is pragmatic, non-judgemental, but also knows exactly what you need when you need it.

From taking care of me (as the new mom), my kid (when he became a big brother) and my husband but also other visiting family–she knows how to support you holistically in a way that can't be put into words.

I can't imagine that time period without her–her calming presence, emotional intuition and intelligence, capable skills (from breastfeeding, to burping, bathing and everything in between), and true joy and love for newborns is everything a family needs to transition into this new phase. I highly recommend working with her.”

  • “I can't recommend Stacey enough as a postpartum doula! As a first-time mom, I was overwhelmed, but Stacey immediately brought a sense of calm into our home. She intuitively knew exactly what needed to be done, often before I even had to ask. Her caring and loving nature made me feel supported, and she shared her experience in a way that allowed me to make informed choices for myself and my baby. I felt so safe leaving my son in her care, which allowed me to finally get the rest I desperately needed. I can honestly say I wouldn't have been able to sustain breastfeeding without her guidance. Stacey truly made all the difference during a challenging time.”
